Travel Guide: Sedona, Arizona
I’m so excited to share my trip with you all. It was truly a vacation for the books. Agenda designed by me, with the family along for the ride and excited about all of the spots. Let’s just say my husband and father-in-law were great sports eating at all the vegan spots I could ever wish for. Don’t worry - we had our fair share of burgers and fries, too! So, alas, they were satisfied.
My husband’s parents have a house in Scottsdale, so it’s always a nice escape during the cold and rainy season here. Since we have been a few times, we thought it would be fun to road trip to Sedona. It’s only about an 1.5 drive so pretty easy! We booked an AirBnB close to the downtown area and it was perfectly located in walking distance from the coffee shops….necessary.
I figured it would be best to create a play by play guide to our trip, so if you choose to follow along during your time there, you are set up for success!
FRIDAY
We arrived in Sedona Friday morning ready to go in our athleisure to scale the Devil’s Bridge hiking trail. This trail was beautiful, on the lighter side in terms of activity, and the top of the trail led you to a gorgeous (yet terrifying) bridge you could walk over for pictures. I’m a chicken so skipped that part, but stayed put to snap the photos.
The meal we had after the hike…another story, and kudos to the fam for being good sports and allowing me to indulge in all of the vegan, organic options Sedona has to offer. I HIGHLY recommend a meal at Chocolatree. The cutest patio, zen vibes, delicious vegan food and raw chocolates to die for. I am still dreaming about this place. The rest of the day followed by drinks at L’Auberge for the beautiful creek and foresty vibes (would love to come back here for a bonfire)…and more drinks at Mariposa. This place had the most BEAUTIFUL views and amazing vibe. Cozy couches and tasty drinks. You can’t beat it. Highly recommend a stop here even if you don’t eat dinner. We ended the night with a solid Italian dinner at Cucina Rustica. Delish.
SATURDAY
I’m an early rise as you all know, so Graham and I soaked up the morning together with a short walk to coffee at Oak Creek Espresso. Definitely the more popular “mainstream” coffee shop in the area, but they had Milkademia so I naturally was sold. Cute shop with baked goods and yummy coffee. We followed the day with a hike at Cathedral Rock (my favorite of the two). Breathtaking views and a bit more challenging (but still on the lighter side than Devil’s Bridge. This one is a MUST DO! After an active morning, we refueled with some food and juice at the best (I’m saying it now) juice bar EVER. Local Juicery, you have my heart. After relaxing for a bit, we decided to wine down (see what I did there :)) at a winery outside of Sedona that came recommended from a friend. Page Springs Winery was super cute, low key, and a fun getaway from the hustle and bustle of the busy city during Memorial Day Weekend. Ended with Dinner at J Wine Bistro. I had the salmon and veggies and it was delicious.
SUNDAY
The trip ended on a high note at Firecreek Coffee before driving back to Scottsdale. A cute little coffee shop with great coffee, hemp milk and other milk alternatives (free of charge!). I also picked up a chia seed pudding with coconut milk for the ride home…#alwayseating.
The trip was one for the books and I highly recommend paying a visit to Sedona and checking out all the beauty. Red Rocks and views for days!
